Am pe o masina SQL Server 2005 si un express pus de Visual Studio (deci nu apare la add remove programs). E cu patch la zi la tot...
Dar, la SQL 2005 SP 3 a mers OK (nu m-a lasat sa selectez si instanta de expres), dar la Express nicicum eroare la setup 1612, luat pe bucati instalarea de Express (pe instanta SQLExpress) spune in logs product code incompatible sau asa ceva. Si am incercat cu kits aduse de MBSA, cele din downloads si cu nici unul nu a a mers. Am dat jos si Visualu si l-am pus din nou, plecind de la un restore inainte de SP3.

Idei? Ati mai dat de asa ceva?

Acum nu stiu daca pot sa te ajut sau nu, dar ca idee generala: in orice post care se refera la or eroare, la un log, la un mesaj, PUNE MESAJUL NU O DESCRIERE A LUI 'SAU ASA CEVA'!!
La orice problema de setup este aproape imposibil sa zicem ceva fara logurile de setup (cele din %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\):

Aici find vorba de setup din setup le cam zapacea... deci hotfix serveste un 1612, ca are eroare la rularea sqlserver din cache. Si asta rulat singur zice ceva cu version...

Sa dam ceva bucati cu erori sint amestecate putin am rulat kit hotfix si SQLEXPR singur din setup cache... Si daca ma enerveaza mult setup asta pun IS pe ea sa vad ce miracole sint la conditii (BTW setup de SQL 2005 zice ce 686 e un procesor suportat ). Ca foctor complicator am si instante de SQL Compact pe masina, ma joc cu un replication.
Daca bucatiile nu sint indicative miine incerc din nou un setup sa fie los proaspete (azi sint vreo 40 si ma cam pierd in ele )
