Prin SQL server Authentification ... de altfel Windows-ul 2003 nu-l folosesc decat pt SQL server.

Si multumesc pt promptitudine.

Depinde cum te conectezi la SQL Server, cu Windows Authentication sau cu SQL Authentication. Citat din http://download.microsoft.com/documents/uk/partner/training/sales/downloads/microsoft-products.ppt :

"SQL Server provides two authentication mechanisms: SQL Server authentication (user names and passwords are stored in and checked by SQL Server) and Windows authentication (user names and passwords are stored in and checked by a Windows service such as Active Directory).

SQL Server authentication does not require a Windows CAL, Windows authentication does."

Bine v-am gasit,
dupa indelungi cautari pe situri nu am reusit sa-mi raspund la o simpla intrebare :
Pentru a accesa SQL Server 2005 Standard de pe o masina cu sistemul de operare Windows 2003 Standard am nevoie in afara de CAL pt SQL si de CAL pentru Windows server ?
Mentionez ca serverul de SQL este cumparat separat, adica nu face parte din vr-un pachet SBS.

Sper ca ... cu ajutorul vostru sa-mi raspund la aceasta intrebare .

Multumesc mult pentru orice raspuns sau link care sa ma ajute sa ies din impas.
