MSDN Webcast: SQL Server 2008 Advanced Troubleshooting with Extended Events (Level 200)

Event Overview

Diagnosing production issues affecting Microsoft SQL Server can be difficult and time consuming. Microsoft SQL Server 2008 introduces Extended Events, which provide deep visibility into the inner workings of SQL Server and give the power to diagnose what were once impossible problems while having minimal impact on a running system. In this webcast, we introduce the SQL Server Extended Events features, describe the architecture of Extended Events, and explain how you can use Extended Events to diagnose real issues. Presenter: Jerome Halmans, Program Manager, Microsoft Corporation Jerome Halmans has been working with Microsoft SQL Server for 10 years. In that time, he has been an application developer, designing line of business (LOB) applications that use SQL Server; a database administrator (DBA) in the financial sector; and an escalation engineer in SQL Server product support. Most recently, Jerome has been program manager for Microsoft SQL Server Operating System (SQLOS) and Microsoft SQL Server Extended Events.
