This position requires leadership and guidance and is centred around providing customer satisfaction through project engagements.

The technical skills that are required for this position include expert skills in the design, development, and operation of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005 database applications and systems, more specifically:

• Application development using SQL Server as a database platform.  Specifically transactional system design for concurrency and isolation.  Design considerations for scalability and solution 24x7 availability.
• Design of VLDB systems. Indexing, partitioning, federated systems.
• SQL Server Performance Tuning and Optimisation Techniques using known patterns and practices for client server programming.
• Knowledge of Services Oriented Architecture and programming principles
• Expert knowledge of Transact SQL Language
• Security patterns and practices for enterprise systems.
• Data warehousing design and integration with BI solutions.
• Analysis Services and OLAP design
• Implementation of reporting services solutions.
• Knowledge of ETL tools and SSIS.
• Skills in C# or VB.Net. or C++ or VB.

In addition to the technical skills that are required, the successful candidate will need to be able to lead and mentor a small team, and have excellent documentations and communication skills.
